They're okay, but you can do better. Take a look a the deals postings we make a few times a week. You might also post in the general hardware forum, we have an FAQ for people looking for new machines.

Okay, so take a look at our deal postings or post your specific requirements in the hardware forum. Someone just posted about an HP that has a much better spec than what you've found for $699.

I'd take a look at the Compaq v2000z with Sempron CPU. Plus it already has on Operating System, XP Home. You can configure one with Sempron CPU, 256MB of memory(upgrade after getting it, it is cheaper), DVD burner, glossy screen, 5400RPM hard drive and 12 cell battery for about $800 on HPshopping.com. You won't have tax on HPShopping. You could cut back to a combo drive to save a few bucks. It is a nice little laptop. It will go about five hours with the 12 cell. Has a pretty good keyboard and nice screen. The 5400RPM hard drive will make a big difference performance wise. Good Luck.

Thats looks real good there!I'll check into that one. But,if I don't get the compaq(v2000z).Here's one I'am considering very much: Acer Aspire (3003LCi)
    AMD Mobile Sempron 3000 +
    15.0"XGA TFT display
    512MB of DDR333 memory
    60GB hard drive
    DVD-ROM/CD-R/RW drive
    802.11g/b wireless
    Three USB 2.0 ports
Intergrated 3D AGP graphics with up to 128MB of shared memory, plus support for Microsoft-DirectX 8.0 support and dual independent displays.
Windows XP Home Edition/Norton AntiVirus/NTI CD-Maker/GridVista/Launch Manager and System

    $749.00 -$180.00 Rebate =$569.99

The Acer while a fine machine has very poor battery life. It has only a four cell battery versus 12 on the HP. Plus it has a larger screen which drains the battery more quickly. Another issue will be the slow hard drive in the Acer. You can upgrade the HP hard drive to 5400RPM for $50, making it much faster. I think the extra $100-150 for the Compaq is money well spent. Good Luck.
