Hi, i have a 2300 series that has been plagued with problems from the start.
Slow performance and other issues made me attempt to reformat it.
It was working for a while but i had a problem in which the computer would power up but not start. It is also prone to rapid overheating when doing anything remotely taxing.
I took it apart, but found i could not remove the plastic covering from the metal bottom, due to some screws i cannot seem to find. When i put the computer back together, it will attempt to start windows for a second, then just turn off. Also the keyboard does not work at all. Does anyone have any experience with this problem or have any advice?

You don't need to open the plastic covering on the top. Just opening the bottom already gives you access to the heatsink and CPU. For overheating, reapply AS5 and clean out your fans. But as for your other problems, I'm not very sure what's going on...

The screw retaining the keyboard is under the plug-in wi-fi module. Make sure you didn't some dislodge the connection.

You could also try plugging in a USB keyboard to try to verify whether or not you have a hardware problem with the built-in keyboard, before you start messing around any further with disassembly.
