Trying to figure out whats wrong with my new barebones system before I send it back. Whenever I'm playing into 5 minutes in any game I play the computer locks up and I have to do a hard shut down. I've checked the temps and the cpu stays around 65c and the gpu's at about 60c. I've propped the back up even changed video drivers but keeps doing it. I've sent Xotic a ticket to see what can be done about this but getting tired of it. I've also double checked all the cables and screws. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks.

Playing what? If it is only one game, then perhaps it is the game?

Also, when it comes to gaming, there are at least three drivers that are regular contributors to lockups--a) video b) audio c) chipset.

    Are you current on those?

    No overclocking, and no raid.

it's locked up playing TF2 and Call of Duty 5. I'm current on the video, audio and the chipset, for the chipset I used the drivers that came with the disk.

I think I'm going to try a fresh install of Vista then see where that goes. Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it

Ok I formatted and put Vista 64 on it and downloaded Steam and I think I might have found the problem, Steam. Installing another game not thru Steam so see what happens. I hope thats all it was

I really doubt it's steam, but it's possible.
It sounds more to me like it's a hardware problem. Sounded that way from the start.
