    Hi,
I have this problem with my Compal FL90 - once in 15min-few hours laptop hangs for several seconds, then you can hear hard drive starts and everything is ok. I had few Windows XP instalations and its always the same. I suspect its a driver problem but only drivers are on the CD i got to the notebook. Any1 knows the problem and solution?
    Thx

Check power options, make sure your HDD does not go into standby after 15 minutes of idle. Increase that or disable it.

I had this problem fixed by switching to Vista, no matter what I did in XP it still hanged up. Most possible reason would be Microsoft WGA Tool. You may try installing XP without running any auto updates. I sugest you get XP SP3 installation and integrate RyanVM's Windows XP Post-SP3 Update Pack, it comes without WGA by default.
