I purchased an Averatec 2370 back in last Nov. Everything worked fine, but it suddenly died one day, the machine died and had to be sent back. They replace the motherboard and was returned within 2 weeks.

Unfortunately, it died a few weeks afterward again with the same symptom. I sent it back. This time, they kept the machine for over 2 months and still hasn't returned it. I tried their RMA status off the website, but it kept crashing with an application error. When I finally got through, it said it hasn't received my computer. Tech support said they have it and is waiting for parts.

I am not sure what to do at this point except call the Better business bureau. I am wondering if they'll just keep the computer until it's out of warranty.

I contacted them again today and they said they will contact the repairs facility to see if they can find out when the parts will come in. He indicate that I am not the only one and have people who have been waiting longer. I told him to tell his superiors that I will soon be filing a BBB complaint.

I contacted Averatec again today, but they said the ticket has not been updated and there's no way to contact the repair facility.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB of CA. I'll let everyone know what the results will be.

I did get a response from Averatec two weeks after I file with the BBB. The guy indicated that they could not get parts from overseas for some reason and was ordering them from California.

On Sep 8, I finally received my computer back repaired. They did however wiped out my hard disk. I did keep asking what was wrong with the units, but he tech said he did not know other than that the motherboard was replaced. The unit was sent to Averatec on Jun 10. This gives you an idea of how long the repair was.

In any case, this is the second time this same failure occur, so I am hoping that I won't have another failure later on. I don't want to wait anothr 3 months.
