Hey everyone, I'm not exactly familiar at all with Avertec or their products other than they make laptops. When I was first looking at laptops, Avertec was one of the ones I was considering before discovering the Fujitsu S6000 series laptop. But I was at Bestbuy the other day and saw that they carried Avertec laptops and actually got to look at one. The build quality to me didn't really seem that great and the hinged look like they were not that well built. Now as I wander into the Avertec portion of the NotebookReview website, I find that most of the posts seem to be about problems and what not. Does anyone have anything good to say about Avertec that I might be overlooking. Usually, I consider BestBuy to be a store that carries only high quality (and also expensive), electronics. Thanks!

    GetndCarVC-

Keep in mind that people satisfied dont shout as loud as those who are unhappy...so keep that in mind as you browse. I can say that i'm VERY happy with my purchase! I use it daily for both work and school, and have not been let down. I did have a issue when first purchased that the battery was defective, but it was quickly replaced by Averatec, and their support was quick and effective. My co-workers and classmates are envious and supprised at the quality of this lappy and jealous of how little I spent compaired to similar machines.

But others havent been as lucky...HOWEVER, if you look thru other fourms you'll see that ALL brands have their issues (or at least their complaints).

I would HIGHLY recomend Averatec if you rlooking for a mid/higher end machine at a lower price...but keep in mind with that lower price comes the obvious slack. Most notable is the case quality.

    Happy lappy shopping!
