I recently bought a 1000 ser. laptop. But of late sometimes when I plug in the power adapter it does not charge. Upon opening the power mgr I find that is does not see the battery. if I take unplug the power then it goes to battery. this does not happen every time but most times. I think it may be a issues with the power management software .....

The tech at Averatec answer was to try and take it back to the store for an exchange.... any thoughts

    collingd,

Sorry to hear of your troubles with the 1000 series. Is this your first Averatec, or are you a fan?

If it is the first one, the best thing you can do it to return or exchange the unit for another brand.

Averatec is very problematic and the company does not support people who purchase defective units.

    Good luck with your notebook

Hello Susan! ;) ... Collin, unfortunately while you can, you may want to do an exchange or refund and try to get another unit. Repairs with Averatec seemed troubled at best.

Susan, I got my AV4265 and its great. Cannot really feel a weight difference though its supposed to be 1lb heavier than the 1020. The glossy screen on the 4265 is great and overall, a keeper!
