Ive been looking at the Performance Solid State Drives They Make.
64GB - OCZSSD2-1S64G
the 64GB performance one looks awesome but it doesn't Have Enough Space..
can you Raid these drives? If I raid two of the 120gb SSD drives would it be as fast as the performance drives?

As long as you get a slc ssd you don't need raid. I have a 64gb ssd on the one I am selling and it is great.
-
which model/ brand and how much do you want for it?
-
i had a few of the ocz ones and imo i was not that impressed. i had a lot of issues with them and vista. it just didnt like them for some reason. that was in the dell 1730 though..do make sure as ali said to get the slc ones if you do
-
well the one im looking at (64GB - OCZSSD2-1S64G)
Is A re-branded samsung drive, it has the best read/write speed on the market, they also say that these particular drives work best with an intel chipset. and alitunay ever think that maybe if you raid them youll get 200mb/s read and 180mb/s write -
you read the newegg reviews And, I'll give ya $200 for it if ya don't like it. (bargain nite in the OCZ)
-
its on sale at amazon.com for 528 dollars right now, and the 100dollar mail in rebate makes it 428 I might just get two of them for raid 0
-
I would wait a little longer on the SSD's let them get more tests and let other people deal with the errors. In a year or less they are gonna be cheaper and way better. Besides 62 GB is very little space. Unless you use it only as a boot drive.

The one I have on my setup is mlc. Write speeds on mlcs is less than impressive but that is why I paired it with a 320gb 7200rpm hdd. If you can do a setup like mine, I would say, do not waste your money on an slc. If you want to have only one drive, then it has to be an slc.

You guys need to check out the new OCZ Vertex MLC drive.
-
nice to see you over here ryder!! if you are who i think you are.. from xtreme...
-
Only one me
-
so when do we see the 48xx cards in the whitebook
-
Q2 2009 (ish)
-
wow i figured on sooner. a few companies are already doing pre orders for their notebooks with them (4850 see msi) i am considering one but really am thinking about waiting for them..
-
If the 48xx was shipping with it, I'd order the OCZ Whitebook right now.
-
I bet you would still wait for 58xx.
-
id order one as well if the 48xx were in it. actually id have it in my hands already
Anybody have an OCZ SSD?
