I have had an Advent 9315 for only a couple of weeks. So it's sitting on the arm of my chair as usual so one minute it goes into the screensaver and then the next minute I touch the mouse pad as I usually would but it doesn't react.

The touch pad simply doesn't react, I have tried un-installing the drivers and letting them automatically re-install but it simply doesn't react to my touch. There's nothing that could have been done to make this happen as it's been sat on my chair arm for the past 2 days without being moved. This is how I use my laptop so I'm just seeking some important advice on how to fix it. Luckily I can navigate my computer using my keyboard but I need to know how to get my mousepad working again and what it is that could have messed it up in the first place.

I'm not very good with the bios and stuff so I will need a bit of a step by step instruction on how to fix the problem.

have you got a mouse plugged in as a mouse will sometimes disable the touchpad
