    Hi all,
After installing XP myself and all of the drivers, I get two unknown devices in device manager. Attached is a screenshot of the DM with all of the devices.
My built in microphone doesn't seems to work, may be that's one of the devices?
Also, for some strange reason I can't establish a VPN connection... does anybody else had this problem with a 6224?

    1. Go into the BIOS and make sure TPM is disabled on the security page. That gave me an unknown device.

    2. You haven't got the Synaptics touchpad driver loaded and there is some more infra-red functionality. Look for the CIR driver. Also, did you install the QL button driver?

I attach a listing of some of my devices where they are different.

Thanks John, that removed one of the devices, but there's still one more :(

the red cross on the atheros is because I have disabled it, because I'm using it very rarely and it's just annoying me in the tray with the popup msgs

Which action got rid of one of the devices? I suggested 4 things.

Possible, but only if Fn+10 is used to turn on the Bluetooth device (a useful feature).

I was the poster in the other thread referred to earlier. Turning off TPM security cleared one error, but one still remains.

my above post was reffering the TPM, but actually after installing the CIR driver it solved my other unknown device - so thanks John, you solved both unknowns ;)
eeperman - try to "update" the driver of your unknown device and point it to the cir driver t should work...
