Well I'm glad to say that after reading through the averatec postings twice and taking everyones opinion into consideration, I am the proud new owner of a 6130. I shopped around from the limited selection that I had and this one caught my eye for the price and the specs. I whish the graphics card was a little beefier but who doesn't. This really is a nice machine. The picture is great and it has a decent bit of speed to it. I'm happy with the money I spent and the research done at this forum. this is my first day owning it but i plan to keep others informed.
A few questions I have are the driver issues once again. I downloaded all the recent drivers from the averatec website but as far as the mobility 9600, ati's web site said i was out of luck and it was controled by the manufacture. This didn't please me at all. the software that came with it seems difficult to find updates for which i expected. I would like to know what other drivers i need to update manually and what kind of games I can expect to play with this machine. Will ati's catalyst apply to notebooks? I don't expect doom 3 but an rts or two would be nice.
This is my first laptop and I am highly impressed by the craftmanship on this machine. The screen is nice but I would like to see a resoulution higher than 1280x800. I would reccomend this model to anyone looking for a good low cost machine. I will keep my eye on this company when my next pc comes along.

Heres a link to optomized drivers for the radeon card. They are in no way official but i had no issues installing them on my 6130.
Just click on the sponsors link at least once to support this guys efforts.

    Mike,

You should be able to find the drivers your looking for form Omegadrivers.net like suggested. These drivers are high quality, i have been utilizing his tweaks for years.

You might want to go lurk on the rage3d.com fourms for some answers to the resolution limitation question. They MAY have some suggestions.

Good luck! Please let us know if you have any success.
