    So, with the introduction of the new drivers from Ati does a typical crossfire 3870 setup easily trump a single 8800/9800 setup and come close to a sli setup?

    morrison, it has been easily doing so..and in certain games such as FC2, yes..it is now much more comparable.

    any idea where a 3870 crossfire setup falls in comparison to desktop videocards?

    there is a thread about this in either the games/software or the alienware
    and i gota say the performance difference between single gpus is up to 70%,
    +they were talking about comparing them to desktops cards havent really seen whats up today.Im probably going to check right now.
