I know lots of people have had problems with this keyboard bending and causing stuck keys. I had this problem before and I was able to bend the keyboard back into shape which resolved the issue completely.

However, now its crapping out again and it's not even bent out of shape. On top of that, the palm rest is cracked on either side of the keyboard and my touch pad only works for a few minutes at a time :(

My question is, has anybody had the same problem? If so, is there a simple way to fix it? I've removed the keyboard and reseated the cable, so I know thats not the problem, however, I haven't been able to get to the cable for the touch pad yet, so maybe that just needs to be reseated? If anybody has any suggestions I'd love to hear them. The cracks I can live with, but I really need a working keyboard and touch pad.

I've had this laptop for 2 years now and it's been a pretty good machine, but it looks like it might be time to replace it (with anything but an Averatec).

Laptop is not built to last forever. You can solve problem by looking for new keyboard ~ $40 on Ebay.
Used upper case which includes touchpad can find around $40 or lower. Since the touchpad is glued to white surface, you have to buy the whole upper case. It can remove from upper case but I think most sellers don't know how so they will sell the palmrest or upper case with the touchpad attached.
If it's not found , you can post Want It Now on Ebay for this item. Some sellers might response because this's a low demand item.
