Do you think it's worth it for me to buy the dv8000t with the core duo 2500 2.0GHz or the new dv9000z with the AMD Turion64 X2 Mobile TL-60 (2.0GHz/512KB)? Everything about the computers is the same, except that the 9000z has a built-in microphone and webcam, the AMD Turion 64 X2 instead of Core Duo, and a nicer design. The 9000z is also about $400.00 more than the 8000t with almost identical configuration, except for those things listed above.
I returned my first dv8000t because of the stupid keyboard, so I'm willing to try the dv9000z, but I'm hesitant to get AMD... What do you think I should do???? Is there a big difference between AMD and Intel? Heat, battery life, etc.?

In my opinion, it is not worth it to spend $400 for the nicer design. The TL-60 is actually about ten-fifteen percent slower than the Core Duo T2500, but you probably wouldn't notice the difference. All things considered, I'd go for the dv8000t.

dv9000 has a bit of a better gpu as well,
me personally, i couldnt stand the fact of knowing that i bought the 8000, with the 9000 out there. that's just the way i am. however, you will be getting a good value on the 8000 because a newer model is out. -
