"The Turion X2 will also utilize better power savings technology than previously expected. When running at less than full load, the Turion X2 is able to dynamically vary its voltage and frequency on a per-core basis. AMD calls this new technology Multi-Core Power Management. This feature is especially useful when running single-threaded code."

Should be great for preserving battery life, especially since most all code is single threaded code.

man i should have waited

I know that based on pictures earlier posted. I mentioned it earlier X2 thread. But now it is confirmed. That is very good news.
I guess, people who bought Core-Duo may regret a bit!!? -
So Core Duo isn't able to power down an entire core? I don't know about that, I think Core Duo has SpeedStep tech that allowing its core to power down at low resources.

I didn't expect the X2 to be able to do that. Very good news! The reason I didn't expect that it could do that is because, to my knowledge, the Turion X2 is based off the Athlon X2 - the Athlon X2 can't even regulate the voltage of both cores, let alone turn one off. Not that it runs hot (relatively), just it wouldn't be a great feature for the Turion X2 to carry over.
Thanks for the link,
