This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Windows Vista/Server 2008 SP2 RC Released

    Microsoft has made available the Release Candidate for Windows Vista and Server 2008 Service Pack 2. Today it is available to anyone wanting to test out SP2 before it its final release.

    Am I the only one that feel Notebookreview.com turn to something different, < 5 lines news, recently?

    I'm sorry, but it's just not what I used to feel for notebookreview.com... Probably because I visited notebookreview.com from its feed all the time, not from the forum.

    added: I just recognize it's still the same thing I expect on front page, only in feed that add more news.

    Note also that you have to uninstall the release candidate to install the actual SP2 when it officially comes out.

    Instead of doing "News Bits" with many news items in one article, as you noticed we now have a separate "Quick News" column. It allows us to get news up more quickly.

    I prefer it since it allows discussion to develop on each individual topic instead of the juiciest newsbits drowning out the conversation on the other topics.

    SP2 Beta was pretty reliable for me so i installed the RC today on my Vista machine. No crashes yet.

    I think I'm gonna wait till the final comes out. Then DL the SP2 integrated .iso from MSDN AA.
