I installed it and all of my asus software is still working unlike the current rc of 7.
No real problems cpu genie thought my cpu was different (actually made a false multiplier (11x) go away) gave me the message twice stopped doing it my false multiplier is back lol. -
I downloaded it last night and am going to do a clean Windows install while I'm at. I'll post back when I'm up and running again.

So anyone else have any experience with it? Really don't want to install it and have my laptop crash out here in Iraq . . .

I installed SP2 on my HP and an Acer, no issues to report so far; I have not see any differences period. My HP has ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 and the Acer has Norton AntiVirus 2009.

This popped up on windows update a few days ago (its set on notify), but I have yet to download it
I may in a few days, as most people haven't run into many problems from what I hear -

The accursed thing will not install for me. It spends a solid half hour installing itself, then says that the service pack did not install and spends another half hour reverting changes. Following Microsoft's instructions, I tried their upgrade readiness tool (which did absolutely nothing) and also tried downloading SP2 manually (which didn't help either).
Meh. SP1 works fine for me so far and at some point (but not now) I will simply reformat the drive and start over. -
Forgot to post back. No problems installing it. I actually ended up doing a whole reinstall of Vista though while I was at--something I'd been planning on doing since I got my laptop back in August. I just kept putting off as I was taking online courses and couldn't risk having my main computer down. Out of school for the summer though so why not go ahead and do it? Had to download SP1 and SP2 and several large drivers and at ~60 kbps that takes awhile. No problems though. To be honest I can't tell any real difference from SP1.Only thing I've noticed is start up time is taking longer than it did before. Probably due to the fact I haven't disabled a lot of apps like the sidebar yet though.

For those who wonder what are the new stuff in SP2, read here:

I downloaded and installed it on release day. The first time, it completed the download but failed during installation, which I later discovered was due to a power surge to my wireless router interrupting my connection and corrupting the download. Second time, it worked, and I have not had issues since. This is on Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

I downloaded mine the day it was released and wished I didn't. I now have intermittent pops and crackles in my audio...nothing loud more like when you plug headphones in and it touches the wrong part for a slit second and the ground changes or something. SolidWorks no longer runs on my machine and I am getting windows message rentention on the screen. I tried to unisntall and the crackles/pops are less frequent but still there and for some reason one of the add ons to teh sidebar no longer worked until I reinstalled it. I think at this point I will just wipe the whole thing and start over and not touch SP2 for a while....in case it matter this was on a Dell Studio XPS 16.

As to the link above going to the list of new features, I've looked at several similar lists before and all in all, even with knowing what the new features are I don't notice them. Of course I don't have a Blu-Ray drive and if I did I might notice the native Blu-Ray burning support. That said, I honestly don't see a lot of reason to run out and upgrade unless you want too (like me). -
Microsoft sticks security hole in Firefox as part of .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1.
How to remove it. -
