Ok ok, this aint a wine thread against the two, COD runs very well on hardware anyway, its crysis you should be running (JOKE!)

I've been using mac for media studies at the moment but i get frustrated with them fast (The colleges have them rigged to the col windows network too which completely makes the fail.)

And the software hasnt been set up appropriate to use on macs, open GL support, multicore rendering, i hated having to set that all up for each app.

Back to topic... What im interested in is the part where ATI are saying DX11 will actually run faster, i mean i dont doubt that because 10.1 really boasted frame rates from the ATI cards (i was like wow also.) but i mean, how on earth are they doing that o_O

Anyhow, i will probably upgrade to something with DX11 in the long distant future :).

Whats VGA? u sound like your from the 90's. Im using 32'' Samsung HDTV wz HDMI interface, also im not a hardcore MAC user, ive been building HighEnd HTPC for about 10 years now. I just embrace technology and not live under a rock and limit my self.

No pun intended, but calling a MacBook Pro "high tech" is kinda contradictory, considering the GPUs used are already 2 generations old, the CPU and the GPU are both non-upgradeable since they are soldered (last time I checked on a MBP15 from the last refresh at least, it was).

The thing the MBP must be praised for is the BQ, which is very good, and a very responsive clickpad. Other than that on the hardware area (an battery which is very good), I fail to see a Mac outperforming a similarly specced Win7-based PC for half the price of the 2.8GHz, 4GB DDR3 RAM and 9600M GT.

I think if you take advantage of the Mac OS and you need it, by all means, get a MBP, I know some people that work with MBPs because they have some softwares a PC fails to give with good performance (some video thing..no idea which one...for microscopical cell-viewing), and for that the MBP is better. But if you get a MBP just to go to the Starbucks and show everyone that you have one, eeehhh, FAIL, sorry.

Now, please, back to windows 7 topic. I am still waiting on my machine to arrive with win7, and the best thing I am wanting the most is the ability to boot fast and be able to do quick research, I dont have that much time to eat, and that is when I get to use my laptop freely...I am wondering if ATI is going to release a pseudo-DX11 driver or similar for the 4830HD, me wants tessellation more than anything!
