    I bet the 750GB 7200RPM WD Black will crush Seagate's equivalent (which has relatively lackluster performance).

    Not sure about it, WD Blue 640 and 750 are relatively disappointing performers. Increasing the spindle speed will help but they'll need to do more.

    Same here.. but i doubt its going to beat a Momentus XT yet.. i'm not sure.. the day Western Digital comes up with a hybrid like seagate and beats it , i'll buy it.

    But the 500GB Scorpio black is an extremely good performer in it's peer group. The blue's just never tried hard to get to the top of their heap as much as the black series has.

    We'll have to test and see of course, but it's at least possible it might perform very well.
