Wesabeis an online finance tool and community designed to help you manage your money better, both by giving you a holistic view of your finances, and providing you with a wealth of forum advice to make smarter spending and saving decisions. Is Wesabe really the next-generation answer to contemporary financial woes, or just another Web 2.0 fad? We break it down in this review.

Any word on if the program supports Canadian financial institutions? I doubt it :)

I know Mint.com said their Canadian content would come 2010-2011, so I'm stuck with Quicken Canadian Edition Home & Business which is okay, but not better than Money since I think it's too convoluted.

I like the simplicity of Mint & this Wesabe.

    Hi Jay,

Great overview. You mention that Wesabe is supposed to be an alternative to Quicken (desktop products) and I think this is somewhat inaccurate. Intuit offers a free Web-based solution as well, much more on-par with the feature set of other free Web-based finance options, but really meant for those living paycheck-to-paycheck (some 70% of Americans) to get started with finance.

Other things Quicken Online helps consumers do is grasp cash flow, save money by alerting them to when they might overdraw an account and incur a costly fee, and get a forward-looking view of their whole financial picture.

Let me know if you'd like to talk more about our complete product line. Comparing various Web-based solutions to our desktop product isn't an apples-to-apples comparison, since our desktop solutions offer much more in-depth functionality (i.e. drill-down on investments, bill pay, etc.).

    Thanks so much,

    Chelsea with Quicken

Of course, you're not bias at all...

Are you in some sort of web based marketing for Quicken?

I find it curious that your first post on this forum was related to financial software...

a quick google search says you're all over twitter, facebook, as well as various online forums denouncing every other financial program out there... not a bad job I suppose.

Nonetheless, welcome to NBR... I guess we'll see you again when some more software is reviewed and you find it in your google search.... You should probably mix it up though to avoid being flagged as spam, just a heads up.
