It's been a long time coming, but Microsoft is officially going to hit their current deadline for the release of both Vista and Office 2007. While Vista dropped a lot of features, there are a large number of features that made into the final release of the new OS that could prove to be very beneficial. There appears to be a lot of excitement for the release of the new OS, and now it seems that this will be the calm before the storm of Vista.
There have been a large number of significant stumbles in the development of the OS that should have been released about three years after XP's release in 2001, in which one resulted in a significant portion of the OS being re-written. But, "it looks as though Microsoft is getting its ducks in a row when it comes to final countdown for Windows Vista and Office 2007."

Wow! Vista is on time for once!
I'm really excited for Microsoft. It seems they righted they wrongs from XP in Vista, and it certainly is appealing.
What I'm worried though, is just how good Aero is, how slow Vista will run, and the suspected "battery-killer" OS.
Still, I'm not the type to jump on to the Vista crowd once it is released. I'll wait a few months, to let even more wrongs be righted, and graphics requirements come more clear. -
