    one I would add is Lightworks. Lightworks its a pro level NLE and good stepping stone for those that want to play with extra tools, or bump into Premier Pro or AVID DS later. best part its free and fairly bug free for windows ( the Mac alpha port is not too good yet though )

    I use cyberlink power director. It's easy to use, powerful and makes use of modern technology like CUDA and multi core processing. It's encoding engine is the fastest I've tried, even faster than adobe media encoder. At an srp of 99usd, it's really a pro level nle at a consumer level price point.
    I've also tried muvee reveal in the past. It's the most automated way to make videos but it affords you little control of the whole process. However, it does make beautiful pre set videos with almost no effort on the part of the user. For those who really don't like fiddling, this is the perfect solution. Costs about the same as power director.
    Loghtworks seems intriguing. It is on beta and I haven't used it or heard of it before this thread. It's intriguing feature for me is that it accepts premiere pro plug ins. It's still on beta though but ill give it a try on my next project.

    Yup movie maker is quite good actually and supports a lot of media file and container types.
    However when you want to do more complicated stuff like pip or mixing complex animation and video, that's when the other nle's become useful.
