The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I just got an email about a free webinar wrt to the issue of the court rulings for Vonage's infringements on Verizon patents.

    It could have pretty far reaching results and is likely far from over just yet...but I use Skype almost exclusively to call out for both local and long distance. VoIP offers so much over POTS that the only way the big TelCo's seem to compete is to attempt to restrict our using the services. Funny until they became widespread the TelCo's did nothing. Just another example of why our economic model actually stifles innovation and the same rapid advancement as we say in the 1900's...

    Anyway, just thought the webinar might be of interest to someone here...
