It's more powerful than Intel's Atom. If they added good video capabilities it's a serious competitor.

Unfortunately not many manufacturers are releasing Nano based products.

So how does these Via offers compare to AMD Neo(and their new replacement model), or the intel CLUV like the celeron and dual core celeron? Are these dual core?

I don't see a benchmark for the Nano in that link? So this a single cpu I take it then?

Edit: NVM, The Samsing NC20 is using the Nano cpu. I thought this article was referring to a updated Nano cpu, that also is pared with a better gpu.

Samsung NC20 is Via Nano. Single CPU.

This new platform is a competitor to Nvidia ION with Atom.

Will this be better than ION? Because from what link the Nano isn't that much better than the Atom.

They'll probably be in the same league.

ION may be be better for gaming.

It's not clear to me where this moves forward from the hardware in the Samsung NC20. Perhaps VIA is hoping to increase sales by supplying a ready-made board. They would also need a faster CPU before this hardware can claim notebook performance.

VIA announced some time ago a 2.0GHz based on Cortex A9. I wonder how does that stack against Atom.
