    This gets me thinking of how relative costs have changed over the years. Computer hardware has come down in price (the software less so), but an example which comes to mind is that in about 1974 I remember reading an advert for a house for sale in South Wales (UK). It was along the lines of:

    "Terrace house, two rooms, up, two rooms down, no bathroom, outside toilet, in need of improvement .... £2,000 or will exchange for car of equivalent value."

    At that time £2,000 was the cost of a fairly average car.

    On the right side view, the left jack is used to hook up an external floppy drive. My GF was just given one of these things so I've been doing some searching on the internet to find out about it.
