Let the 3D gimmick die already.

Like how all the reviews have a cute subtitle now like "Affordable 3D Fun". 3D on one of these 1366x768 displays seems silly. A higher resolution screen would be better with the included blu-ray drive. Still I bet one could have some fun sending someone with that laptop that old Where's Waldo prank where the monster pops out.

Yeah, the specs are definitely not very impressive for the price. I've criticized Toshiba's build quality and overall design cues for years now, and it still doesn't seem things are improving. Wish they could take some more ideas from their Z830 ultrabook design.

Agree 100%,I don't even think 3D TV is anything special.
Most people that want 3D In laptop don't only want it to watch movies, they want it for gaming too. These specs just don't cut it for the price.

I don't think this notebook is intended for gaming. It seems more like a family multimedia laptop with a few extra bells and whistles. In that role the build quality and kids would be the question mark.

Exactly. Although I think it could have used a more powerful GPU, it is good enough for watching 3D movies (either on the built-in 720p display or when connected to a compatible 3D HDTV via the HDMI cable). Toshiba clearly designed this as a "budget 3D notebook" and not a "budget gaming notebook."

As a budget 3D notebook it isn't a bad deal ... but, as you said, build quality isn't that great.
