The Satellite E205 is the latest "Blue Label" Toshiba notebook exclusively made for Best Buy. Packing a 14-inch WXGA screen, an Intel Core i5 processor, and the latest Intel GMA HD graphics, this notebook has one feature no other model currently offers, Intel Wireless Display. Intel Wi-Di lets notebooks stream HD-quality video to a compatible receiver plugged into your HDTV, letting you share videos without any need for cables. In this review we take an in-depth look at the Toshiba Satellite E205 and see if its Intel Wireless Display is going to change the way we use notebooks in our home theaters.

Meh. A pity ... I like their smaller offerings (11.x and 13.x machines) in the Txxx series.

Looks like the price is currently $899 at Bestbuy.com--even better! Also, cool that the Netgear adapter is included.

I don't understand why Toshiba had to place the media keys on the side while relocating PgUp/PgDn & Home/End keys to "unusual" positions. Otherwise, it looks like a nice laptop.

Nice, I wonder if they're planning on a 15.6" version.

Shame it doesn't have a nvidia or ati based gpu option, because beside the wireless streaming I see no real advantage to this over the similarly price Vaio CW.

An all-black painting finish would be nice.

I find the "Wi-Di" nomenclature a little unfortunate. They may have just wanted to stick to the full terminology of Wireless Display in this case. It's also unfortunate this is a set configuration and not available on ToshibaDirect.com to customize it a bit for those that would want more power, or less if that be the case.

The naming scheme is a big weird I have to say. Netgear calls it Push 2 TV which is a bit more unique and won't get the older crowd confused on new technologies.

Is there lag in the wireless display? In other words is it fast enough to game on?

Scratch that: I was finally able to see the video

The review was pretty clear that there's about 2 seconds of lag. So gaming is definitely out of the question.

How heavy is this machine? I'm looking for a laptop in the 14 - 15 inch range and like the new Intel i5 chips. The only thing I don't want is a hot and heavy machine. I am looking for a machine that can handle web surfing, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc), has an optical drive (I like to make my own CDs for the car) and can also handle personal photo editing and whose battery does not drain after 3 hrs. I know it's a tall order, but does any manufacturer have something like this for under $1,000?

Looking for a new laptop with the i5 Intel chip, need it for burning CDs for the car, editing photos (would like to be able to use photoshop), some work stuff using MSWord and MSExcel and the usual web surfing surfing stuff. Is there anyone making something like this that is relatively light weight and has a good battery life for under $1,000 or is this only a dream?
