Toshiba is finally adding Blu-ray disc support to its Satellite line of notebooks. The P500 is the first to get it, sporting an 18.4-inch 1920x1080 display, HDMI port, and a Blu-ray burner. The P500 with Blu-ray will be available late October; pricing info is not available at this time.

How funny that Toshiba has adopted Blu-Ray in its computers before Apple, when Toshiba was the prime backer of its arch-rival, HD-DVD and yet Apple is a member of the Blu-Ray Disc Association.

For Toshiba, adopting Blu-Ray must have been a bigger "bag of hurt" than for Apple. :)

Was about time. I could actually consider myself buying this laptop.
I don't think I would need to use the blu-ray that often to watch movies or anything,
but the 18.4" screen is a must. :D

    /Gee Whiz FINALLY

This has to do with some kind of beef with how Toshiba was the ones who developed/started the whole HD-DVD craze.

NOW PUH LEASE TOSHIBA, put 1080 screens in your notebooks already! That is it you are almost there!...............
