Those are pretty good -- looks like they're finally starting to use decent displays rather than 1366x768 garbage. Also, the 6630M is one of the cards with the slightly updated architecture. It will be interesting to see how it performs relative to, say, the 6570M.

Nice to see something other than 1366x768 garbage, agreed. Finally a Blu-ray notebook with a resolution high enough to properly display the movies.

I can't decide if the colors for these notebooks are ugly or awesome. They are interesting to say the least though. It would be something to pull one of those out in the middle of a lecture hall surrounded by a bunch of macs.

I don't get it 14in Vaio CW had blu-ray, and an option 1600x900 display paired with the nvidia 330gt gpu on the i core models. So, I am not sure why people are saying finally when that had a better than average res and screen for a 14in machine. Too bad that was replaced with the E series machine with the no option screen res for the 14in models.
-
Because it says The 14-inch VAIO CA and 15-inch VAIO CB [...] both notebooks will have LED backlit widescreen displays with 1080p resolution.
1080p! On 14 inch! I simply do not believe it. I will only believe it when it's up for sale on Sony's website. -

The green looks... interesting. Too bad it's only available in a glossy finish.

A 14" laptop with a 1080p screen for around $1100 (I'm assuming a 1080p screen will be an optional upgrade; 1366x768 must be the base configuration)? That has to be a miscommunication in the press release. If not, I have found my new laptop!
-
Hopefully Sony uses a different manufacturer for these 1080p LCD panels, the current 1080p ones in the EB series and the discontinued CW's 900p panels had disappointing brightness and color saturation levels.

I thought I read the E series will still be the budget model, while the C series will be the higher priced model because of the better specs and quality. Maybe I read it wrong?

Ahbeyvuhgehduh Lost in contemplation....
That's some great screen res!
But that green! Gah! My eyes!
 -
-
Its a wrong information that it has a 1080P resolution, it just provides 1080P vedio because of the Blu-ray. Most websites say its still 768

And to think I was going to purchase an M15X a week ago, when I decided to do a last-second search to see when Sandy Bridge would come back, and I came across the green Vaio C and I instantly, I mean INSTANTLY, fell in love. Although I'm upset it does not have an i7 option...
the HP dv6t Quad I could get for $1,200 with 128GB SSD, 8GB RAM, and i7-2620. The reason I won't is because I absolutely hate silver on laptops, I only like the colors black and green (for everything from clothes to my car.) Also I don't want 1366x733 or whatever resolution, that is pure garbage. Now you see why I must own this laptop -
do you know, if it's possible to switch between the graphics manually? since it'S hybrid, I would like to use only onboard and improve battery life..
-
Yes it has a physical switch above the keyboard to switch the graphics manually.
-
sure? I don't see a physical swith anywhere...

Moreover, did someone check the option of large capacity battery?
Would be interesting if it's bigger etc... ?! -
lovelaptops MY FRIENDS CALL ME JEFF!
I have not seen others make this comment, so either I'm weird about this or people who shell out $2K for a laptop don't want to admit the emperor has no clothes on. -
I never had this jumping around issue you mentioned with my 2.7lbs, 11in Vaio TT, and this is made out of(for the most part) the same materials as the Z is.

Why Sony is placing the touchpad at left corner of this laptop ?
Looks awkward and ugly -

just talked to a sales rep via the chat box. She said the 1080p screen option is matte on the Vaio C 15.4"
really want this, hard to find a good looking 15" with matte FHD
If I could find a coupon I probably would have bit. $100 just for CA tax burns me. -

Hi,
I'm plannig to get this notebook, but I don't know if I get it with bluray if I can output 3d content from HDMI to my 3D LED tv.
Can you help me with my question?
Many thanks
