Much like the name suggests, the Skooba Techlife "Weekend Warrior" duffel bag ($124.95) is designed to carry a weekend’s worth of clothes and toiletries, up to a 17-inch laptop or notebook, a good amount of portable electronics and accessories, and other items you wish to bring on your trip. The Weekend Warrior eliminates the need to carry both a briefcase/notebook carrying case and an extra carry-on bag while traveling. The bag comes in red, black or blue, and a gray and blue checkered pattern lines the entire inside.

Very nice review, Amber; good pictures too.

I have been searching for a bag that does exactly what this bag does -- pack a weeks' worth of stuff plus my computer. This might be my ticket. The zippers have me worried though; less-than-stellar zippers are a real turn-off.

17" laptop but is it actually 17" 16:10 or 17.3" 16:9 laptop? Can't find too many 16:10 models, especially consumer ones in the market today.

The maximum laptop size that fits inside the sleeve and the laptop compartment is 16.5" X 11" x 1.75" according to the Skooba website. That means notebooks like the Alienware M17x technically cannot fit but that notebooks Dell XPS 17 and the HP Pavilion dv7 should fit snugly.

This interested me for basic, until I saw that it wouldn't fit my shoes :(

Nice review tho, thanks for it.

    Thanks for the review.

It's a nice concept, that I could definitely see myself getting some use out of on short one or two night road trips, but for anything longer I think two separate bags makes more sense. Seeing as most airlines allow you a carry on and a laoptop/personal bag, trips where flying is involved would especially favor two bagging it to take advantage of that extra room.

For next year's model Skooba should give the notebook compartment it's own separate zipper. If you do have to take it through a check in at the airport, you shouldn't have to expose your pink fuzzy slippers when security makes you take out the notebook.
