Both Apple and Samsung launched two flagship devices at the same time, which differ mostly in size. With the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, Samsung has a direct alternative to the Apple iPhone 6S Plus. Those looking for a large-screen smartphone would be wise to look at just these two devices, as both are top-of-the-line. There’s really nothing in the market larger that 5.5-inches to rival what Samsung and Apple have to offer.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is the newer device, and that’s given the South Korean giant enough time to surpass Apple's flagship in many respects. It’s simply the more sensible choice for those coming in fresh. And Apple will have to give up on its stubborn avoidance of features in its next iPhone if it hopes to compete.

Odd phrasing implies that Samsung followed Apple into the phablet world instead of vice versa?

Nexus 6P? Moto X Pure? Blackberry Priv?

For better or for worse, never gonna happen...
