Is it only me that really wonders why the crysis-performance under win xp was so insanely crappy?

its the driver and SLI support.

I helped remedy that issue on a friend's system with SLI 8800GTS's.

Crysis 1.1 update and Nvidia 169.44 are the minimal requirements to fully utilize the SLI setup and have stable experiences.

    Best rev ever from Chaz!

Very well behaved at high res.

Unfortunately not good enough to handle Crysis Very High in any res that is worth playing while maxing all other settings. Also I believe the FPS count of 60 on COD4 is not so good even at 1900x1200 compared with a single card solution (only +17%). Unreal Tournement same thing.

Bottom line, a comparatively cripled SLi setup due to issues that no one ever explained in any other way besides being vague or blaming drivers. But if SLi drivers are so bad why they never fixed them in any video card within the NVIDIA M8000 generation? Maybe there is nothing to be fixed, it just crippled.

~17% increase in FPSs from 50 FPS (single card) to 60 FPS in SLi (using COD4). On a $600 second video card that is $60 per frame that it consumes from your wallet.

    Thanx,

    Trance

    FYI;

the power brick is 220w, not 280w.

    20v x 11a = 220w :)

Yea, I was looking at the 280W thing also. I recall users having said 220W or 230W for the power brick.
Nice review,I was actually looking forward to see the final results.

Isnt it annoying to have audio input/output at the FRONT of the notebook? If I was to plug in speakers I would have wires in front of my notebook which, although its only matter of estetics - is still annoying.
Also USBs on the side where your mouse is... not sure.

But hey I might be just looking for silly little flaws because this beauty is so epic I cant think of anything worse than unestetical audio buds :)

i had the same concearns. surprisingly the usb ports are actually raised due to the fact that the laptop itself is raised in the rear and this allows a full size mouse to actually slide underneath the usb ports. this saves the issue with usb ports on the right side for right hand users.

Yeah well I plan to have notebook cooler underneeth it so it should be even higher, however the tilt might cause additional problems with the audio input/output.
Id love to see some pics with this NB fully integrated into desktop equipment.
