I'm stunned. I can barely run it on medium and 1024x768. Then again, I have the T7500 processor, and 2 gb of ram, but the 7950GTX(on Vista x64 premium). By barely I mean like 20-30 fps in explosion scenes and stuff.
Obviously , the bottlenecks for this game are the processor and the RAM.

Humm I don´t think that the bottlenecks are the CPU and RAM... of course that a higher frequency cpu helps but 200Mhz will not make such diference... and more 2GBs will not make it either...

What I think, is that the superior shader power of the 8700M GT(4 times more than an 7950GTX) is the main reason of that nice performance. Crysis is a demanding shader game, and the 8700M GT will take the lead on that situations. Besides the 128bits cripple bus can andle 1280x800 ressolution pretty well...

And that was on Vista x86... yesterday I´ve instaled Vista x64 and I can say that I´ve seen a +5FPS boost over the x86 system.

    ;)

Well, dunno what was wrong before, but I've played the demo again today, on 1280,medium and ingame fps were averaging 29 with a max of 52 and minimum of 21 (2 or 3 tmes) :D Amazing. Damn spyware must've slowed my system down badly to make it lag the first time.7950GTX is still the king :p
Can't wait for the 8800M to show up and then I`ll play it on high :p

Possibly not. I've heard that there are problems running it on high on desktop systems.

Well, I can tell you that an 8800GTX can run it on high and 1024 flawlessly. I usually game between 1024 and 1600, and newer games look good enough on 1024 anyway, so anything that goes 40+ fps is all that i need.

Ok, I'm gonna upgrade to 4 gigs of memory. Which memtest should I use for the memory ? 'cause I`m running Vista 64 and it seems to still have compatibility issues with a few apps.

Tha is weird,as far as I know 64 bit system show 4 gigs of memory,Vista I mean... maybe one of the modules is not 2 gigs? check them individually first..I`ll do the upgrade in about 1 week or so when my ram modules get here :(
Btw, I noticed that you have Patriot memory...as far as I know, that has had some issues with sager laptops in the past...

    Thats very weird...

Maybe is because you have only 3GBs of RAM, on an 1GB+2GB configuration... if it was a incompability problem, you should have instability problems, like lockups and crashes on your SO not miss readings of it´s size.

On mine M570RU I have 2GB+2GB Transcend, and on Vista x64 and XP x64 edition they show 4095MBs of RAM.

It´s weird... you have 4GBs of ram but on an x64 system only shows 3GBs...

How much ram it´s shows on the BIOS?

Maybe the ram are not fully compatible with your system.
I remember in the old days that I had desktop with 128 SDRAM and added another 128, and in BIOS it showed 256 but in windows only 128 .
Did you use memtest to ensure compatibility ?

Maybe eleron911 is right... there is some compability problems that are causing that.

Mine have Transcend (Micron D9HNL chips), no problems so far. I´ve already make some tweaks on the timings flashing the SPD JEDEC chip, from 5-5-5-15 to 4-4-4-12 on 667Mhz, and no probs.

ZFACTOR-thats really odd cause I'm running 4GB of Patriot PC RAM in my 5791without issues. The only complication was that the card reader crashed the system after I installed the RAM (see thread posted yesterday), but a driver update fixed that.

Audigy-what kind of tweaks are you doing to you ram chips, and how? Are they worth it?

is it because of the Robson memory?

I would try to take out one 2GB stick and boot it, check windows to see if its correct.

then do the same for the other stick (leaving one slot open).

If it is the Robson memory, I have a couple of questions:
    1) does it really do anything?at all ?
2)does anybody have a system with 4 Gb and robson?and which type of memory,if so...

I've used notebooks with Turbo Memory installed and noticed no difference in performance. I think it's a good idea but the technology needs to be developed a bit more. Robson 2.0 that is coming with the Montevina platform should be significantly better according to what I have read.

Well, too bad, since I'm using Santa Rosa on the 5791 and won't chnage it for what Microsoft claims to be a few second of loading time spared. I don't buy it.
If you really want to save battery life, get a SSD . :)

I am now, more than certain that it is not a coincidence that Alienware is launching their new gaming notebooks at the same time of Nvidia's projected 8800M release... on [near] Nov. 19th.

I expect to hear Sager's official word within a week when they get the official thumbs up from Clevo and Nvidia. :)

Considering the base price of the Alienware 15.4, it's extremely reasonable, despite the fact that the 8800 goes for $500 more.

One can only drool over how little it will go for if Clevo creates a 15.4 with an 8800. o_o

    Or...I could be dreaming. :(

Do keep in mind that if the 15.4 tiny AW can have it, there is no reason that the 5791 could not have it... I mean, hello, it's MXM IV, and it handles a pretty hot GPU like the 7950 easily. Just be pacient, trust me, Sager will do something about this :D

Even on Xotic PC description page...just check! :
    http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gamin...ops-with-nvidia-video-cards-ct-95_51_178.html

On the bottom page for the 5791 it says : Special Features

Built-in Camera, Memory Card Reader, Optional TV Tuner, Internal 802.11N WIFI, Dual Hard Drive Capable. Easily upgradeable and customizable your way.

Already talked to Justin about it, he says that it does not support dual hdds, so I`m not sure what`s that all about!

You just have to disable your resource hogs:
    - System Restore
    - Drive Indexing
    - Antivirus/Firewall/Malware removers
    - Aero (on Vista)
.... and switch Appearance/Theme to Classic Mode

Let me explain....in Vista my result is 37s, in Xp 44s...The first thing i did after receiving my Clevo and installing XP x86 and Vista x64, was following the optimization guides and tutorials for both the OS´s so...system restore is disabled, so is drive indexing and all the other unnecessary stuff...in XP even if i disable the anti-virus and the firewall i get the same result...i´ve even tried turning off RMClock and setting the appropriate windows power management profile(in this case the result was even worse: 46s if i recall). I know that the score on Xp should be worse than on Vista but the difference shouldn´t be that big....

    Do you have any sugestions?

    Thanks

you can try to install the XP hotfix for multi-core utilization.

But I would not worry about it too much. You scores still look good.
