Case and AlienFX is why I prefer AW to Sager, this is definitely a killer machine with a killer price but I like my aesthetics :(

I want to weigh my backpack. I think that it's over 30 pounds. 3 textbooks, 2 spiral ring 5-subjects, 6 random paperbacks, a calculator, and a pocket full of gadgets.

Last year, I carried just about same amount around, with my laptop in the bag instead of one of the textbooks.

Unfortunately, for the regular user who wants to carry around the laptop, a 9 pound or pound number is quite high, considering there are other options slightly lighter...
Yes it is a matter of numbers, but that is what people see in the end.

Because not everyone needs to live on the bleeding edge of technology. The 8660 and 8662 are very capable machines that will more than likely still be able to work well in 3 years time if not longer.

There was never mention of the HD 4890. When 40nm was demonstrated, ATI only talked about the HD 4830 and HD 4860.

Cause the NP8662 is a very good laptop and is quite capable of high end gaming, and a price cut would make it too desirable...

I know its a capable machine I own one :) . With laptops advancing as quickly as they are saving $100 (all I can see the 8660 going down by) for outdated technology isn't worth it.

Might just buy the Envy 15 instead of this because of the weight and sleek look. I like laptops that can game, but don't look like a gaming laptop (hence my dislike of AW) For me the size and weight are a big deal, but I'm not primarily a laptop user so I don't know how annoying a 7lber is to carry around for long periods of time.

But this by far is the best 15 inch gaming laptop for its price period.
