Roadwired Skooba Sleeve Laptop Case Review

So you just purchased your new laptop and now you are wondering what you're going to carry this laptop around in. You are going to want something that will protect your laptop, be comfortable and perhaps even look good. The Roadwired Skooba Sleeve notebook carrying case might be just the thing you're looking for.

One option that may work well for you is the new RoadWired Skooba sleeve. This is available in a large size, which accommodates notebooks up to 17"or in a smallercompact sleeve, which accommodates smaller sizednotebooks with dimensions of approximately12" x 10" x 2" (W x L x D).

This bag is ideal if you need to just carry your notebook and a few papers around or if you want something to protect it in your suitcase or briefcase. Another way to use it, which is what I mainly do,is to just carry your laptop in this bag then you can use your regular book bag for your books for class. The way thissleeve protects yournotebook isvia the "Patented Air Square" protection system that surrounds yourlaptop with hundreds of individual, air-filled cells to support and protect the notebookfrom the "daily bump and grind".

I felt that the bag did a very good job of making sure your notebook is protected from being bumped around too much in transit. I also really like the shoulder strap. It was very well made and for padding it had a single row of theAir Square padding.The Air Square padding is very good and does a good job of protecting the notebook. However, it should be noted that a few adults (who maybe weren't used to carrying heavy backpacks around campus!)tried it with my laptop inside and thought there should be more padding in the strap to provide comfort for the shoulder. The strap has heavy duty attachment clips to attach to the bag which make it look and feel very securely attached, unlike some bags I've owned in the past.

As with most bags I've seen the really thick padding is not available on the very top where the zipper is. I feel that this isn't much of an issue for this bagas both the handle and the strap come fromthe top area andbecause of that you are not likely to be slamming or bumping the bag hard from this direction. Instead I feelthe laptop ismuch more likely to either get set down hard on the spine or to get bumpedagainst a person or object from the side areas where the protection most certainly is.

For carrying around documents there is a zippered pocket on the back of this bag that works very well for carrying a few folders and/or documents. The only complaint I have about this bag is that the front pouch is too small and tight. The reason is if you have one of these monster notebooks they most likely do not have sufficient battery power to be used all day without their power supply, so it will most likely have to be brought along with you.And sincethe power supply to these large notebooks is usually not the smallest item in the world it tendsto be a very tight fit and bulges out oddly.

After using this bag for two weeks straight I believe thatif this style of bag is what you need then the Roadwired Skoobais well worth considering. While it is not cheap ata suggested price of $69.95 for the large size, it is not unreasonably priced either. Just keep in mind what you will need the bag for. If you need lots of features, compartments and space then you will probably be more comfortable with a backpack or satchel type bag. However, if you just need a bag to protect and carry your laptop and power supply either alone or in conjunction with other bags then you should definitely consider this bag.

Oh thank you so much for reviewing this item. Ebags has it up for sale but there are no reviews written there. Finally a decent sleeve that doesn't cost an arm and a leg (just an arm).

Nice job Quick...looks much better than the standard bags of this type, certianly worth paying more for protection, and a bag that comes in something other than plain black.
