I thought the readers of this site would find this amusing:

L International Announces the Metropolis, the World's First 19'' Laptop Computer Featuring Nvidia's Quad-SLI Technology

    http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/060830/20060830005782.html?.v=1

this along with a sting of other bogus press releases has pushed heavy trading of their stock LITL. If any of you remember their press release several weeks ago concerning the 20" olympus laptop that was discussed on this board i believe -- you can view this bogus laptop design at their home page here:

    http://www.go-l.com

(you will definitly get a kick out of those specs too!)

For a full listing of all the bs they are feeding to the media to rocket the prices of their stocks check out some of the other press releases:

    http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=LITL.PK

If any of you have actually followed this company, you would know that they have been shut down and not producing products since sometime in 2004; they just recently removed the notice that they were closed from their webpage. Also, their corporate address is that of a post office box. You would think the securities and exchange commission would do something about all the lies, but I guess not many of them are technologicly inclined enough to know that these are bogus claims they are making and not feasible configurations for a company to produce. For additional information and another perspective of someone catching onto the bs check out this story:

    http://ezinearticles.com/?High-Flyin...ELL?&id=290890

notice of their shutdown in 2004:

    http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/mobile/...014102843.html

    and yet another interesting article:

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/04/28/liebermann_self_justification/

Hope everyone got a good laugh out of this, the real question remains: who is actually investing in this company?!

Please leave any information, comments you may have about this company, as I would be very interested to hear others experience or input on this bogus company!

Could you imagine the battery life of that thing? Not to mention the price? Still, kinda sad that they're dooping so many people.

I'm surprised they didn't add a PPU card in there as well. I wonder who came up w/ those ridiculous specs. blueray/hd is rare enough, but both? haha.

actually they have had small subwoofer modules in several clevo models in the past; however, they never really produced much base. My favorite part of the specifications of the olympus laptop is "Single or Dual Dual-Core CPU up to 4.5GHZ"

HAHAHA can you imagine the heat output of not 1 but 2 (dual) Dual-Core CPUS overclocked to 4.5GHz in a notebook!! Not to mention the power draw. Whoever is coming up with these outrageous specifications, presumably Miguel Libermann, should try to do a little research before posting such absurd specs.

Maybe someone knows the proper authorities to report this scam to (securities and exchange maybe) and get it shut down.

yeah the odds that they could ever produce a real laptop is slim at best. sorry but these guys are just a scam and anyone who falls for it is an idiot.
