The latest solid state drive (SSD) in our review line up is the OCZ Vertex 3 120GB. According to the specs this should be one of the fastest SSDs we've seen yet. Will our real world benchmarks confirm this? And, regardless of speed, is it the best SSD for notebook users? Read on to find out.

Originally I started out with firmware 2.02. I did notice a freeze, so I disabled LPM. That worked.

Then as I was done benchmarking OCZ released firmware 2.06. I installed it and enabled LPM again. No more freezing. I redid some of the benchmarks and found no performance difference.

I redid the battery life benchmark with fw 2.06. Battery life improved. In the chart is battery life with fw 2.06 and LPM enabled.
