OCZ's pre-SandForce drives were actually quite good in my experience.
Too bad that working people who had no part in management's poor decision process will be the ones to pay the price... -

In use every day,a 3.5 year old OCZ Vertex 2(34nm) and a 2+ year old Vertex 3 MIOPS just keep on ticking.
Toshiba and SanDisk have a partnership so an OCZ purchase could be a bit about patents? -
^^ That's entirely possible. I'm not aware of what major patents, if any, OCZ is really bringing to the game (probably some related to their PCI stuff?). I think it's likely more about marketing and brand recognition at the moment.
