    Notebook Shipments to Increase in Q3

    Inventec CEO Richard Lee says that notebook shipments will have a chance to rebound in the third quarter of this year, when they could increase 15-20% on-year. Inventec, a contract notebook manufacturer, has been working to optimize production speed and inventory management to better meet clients' demands.

    Interesting no surprise it seems newer notebooks(2009) are now alot cheaper then before.

    See: Asus W90, Asus 1000HE, MSI GT725 and X320, HP DV2/DV6, Samsung NC20 etc. There is a longer list but i cant think of them all. :D

    I think they're counting on Windows 7 to drive sales. Moving to a new OS is a pain in the neck -- you have to make sure everything works properly, reinstall and configure all of your favorite programs, copy all documents, music, etc. to their usual locations and so on and so forth. I would guess that most people would rather move to new hardware at the same time because that way, at least somebody did the first part for you.
