I love Norton, personally. I used to use free suites like MSE and Avast but since I have Comcast I get Norton for free and it definitely protects better than any free security suite I have, though at the cost of a slightly larger footprint. Still, I would definitely recommend it.

Norton is an impressive product and I like it a lot. I would not hesitate to use it on my own PC or recommend it to friends/family. Currently I have ESET NOD32 Smart Security, been using that for several years now. Also excellent.

Norton has a reputation of being horribly bloated and ineffective. I'm glad to see they've turned things around.
