ASUS to introduce new Eee PC 904/905
ASUS is planning to add two new models to its Eee PC lineup, the 904 and 905. They will feature an 8.9-inch display and a larger keyboard, using a chassis similar to the one used in the 10.1-inch Eee PC. Battery capacity is unchanged.
The Eee PC 904 and 905 should have similar price points as the current 900/901.

That Toshiba looks pretty interesting. 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 9800M GTX? Me like
-
That's pretty pricey. -

the subwoofer should kill your battery though
but if it has sli and quad core im allover it -
But as the saying goes, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. And I'm certainly in the not-willing-to-pay-that crowd. To each his own. To others, I'm sure it's worth the price, just not me. -
I don't know about the x305 in particular but from my own personal experience I don't think any Toshiba right now is worth 3500 bucks given their mediocre build quality. Hopefully Toshiba can turn this around with the x305.
The Sony looks nice though it's too bad that it only includes integrated graphics for $1600. -
I think it's kind of interesting, that companies are coming out with these new notebooks already, with montevina just around the corner.
Trying to offload all the old stock I think, but if they update it with montevina when it comes out (which I'm sure they will), then it's not so bad. -
wow how many versions of the EEE are there...
-
Hmm the toshiba looks ugly IMO. Spare the flashy paintjob please.
I wonder what the spec of the 9800m gt is and how it performs. -

Toshiba is looking to compete with the big dogs now, but I personally am disappointed. Yes the Qosmio X305 is nice, but unfortunately they've lost the great value factor that the X205 has. $3,500? The fancy speakers aren't worth that much. You can get much more of a notebook from Sager for that. Even an Alienware m17x is a better value than that.

Gateway's newest model in its retail gaming FX line, the FX4710, continues to raise the bar for value-based gaming systems, with an MSRP of just $1,149.99. Sporting a sleek new industrial design with streamlined black casing and silver trim, it also includes LED lights that provide system status for key activities such as a wireless network activity.
Housed inside the new chassis is a host of advanced powerful technologies, including an Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad Q9300 processor, a whopping 6GB(1) of memory, over-clocked NVIDIA(R) GeForce 9800GT graphics and Windows Vista(R) Home Premium 64-bit. The new FX4710 makes it easier than ever for consumers to experience serious high-performance computing for a fraction of the cost.
Wow... As expected from Gateway.
And EEE904/905 are a joke. -
^^^ exactly what i was thinking when i read that. i actually like toshiba's myself.. but no way that is worth 3500$.. thats a lot of money for some shiny paint
-
man those zepto notebooks are sexy neva heard of that brand bfore
-
It's some way overpriced brand that used to have the "king of the hill" title for 14 inch laptops until Asus and Lenovo came out with same specced laptops at around three-fifths the price.
-
That's a tower desktop by the way. hd 4850 would be faster and the q9300 is considered average these days right? -
The Zeptos look like the new Voodoos.
-
What's with the mini-notebook explosion? I saw a Sony model way back when and can't even read the letters.
-
Does anyone know whether the X305's siblings (the F55 and G55) will be released with it?
Unlike the hopelessly expensive X305, the F55 actually looks quite decent with a fair price tag ($1400 or so inclusive of the 9700m GTS and 2.0GHz c2d) -

For a pre-built desktop, the Gateway FX is a relatively good deal.
