Wow, these seems like a massively overpriced notebook. People will still buy it though because of the pretty cases. Oh my...

Sony pops that built-in web cam sporadically to it's notebook line. Not sure what place it has in here when it's not on the new TX series. The 5400RPM SATA hard drive is nice. I wonder about the build of this machine, it looks nice. I also agree with Brian that the price may be high when a similar HP or Compaq can be had for about $300 less.

OMG!!! I cannot believe I used to actually regard sony vaios as all around good and well priced (for what you get) machines a few years ago. Just goes to show how sony have become all about show. For that amount you can easily get something with comparible quality and a dedicated graphics as good as an X600.
And what's the point of a built in webcam on a 5.3lb machine, it's not exactly mobile, especially with a battery rating of 1.5-3.5 hours (talk about one hell of a range for battery life ). And no mention of camera specs anywhere (fishy)!
Only good thing I can come up with is the SATA drive!
Complete spec sheet, for interested. -
this is the new trend with digital products - color. consumers now have one more thing to worry about. you go to buy a digital camera these days and youre asked.... would you like that in white, red, or gun metal.

if that's the case, I personally would purchase an Asus Z63a if I wanted a 14" wxga, intel GMA 900 laptop.. or HP/Compaq's offering :asus: :hp:
