So....has anyone actually used this contraption yet? I am very interested in performance results, couldn't care less about the look. Speed? Noise? Heat? Just a few things that are on my mind.

Does anyone know if this model (M6300) will be available soon with an Quadro FX 2600M ???

I need to buy a laptop soon, and i would prefer to wait a little and to not buy the m90 (with 2500 and older CPUs, etc..), because now the M6300 only comes with the 1600 GPU, and i need the strongest graphics capability for my work (3d Studio max).
Altough i can not wait too long.

I have an XPS m1710 by the way (with 7900GS , which i dont like... need more graphics power.)

    Thanks for your help.

Well, the FX1600 is pretty much the best option out there, though in gaming terms, I would say it's probably about equal or marginally better than the 1500M due to its 128-bit bus and much lower bandwidth. It's basically an 8600M GT as far as I know.

I don't know when the FX 2600M will be released, if ever. I would expect it about the same time as the Geforce 8800M, as it will likely be based off of that. As it stands, unless you DX10 capabilities for some reason, the M90 with the 3500M (7950GTX) is about your best bet. You can get a few Clevos /Sagers/Alienwares with dual 2500Ms in SLi if you so wish, though they'll probably be a bit hard to find now. But if the 7900GS is not enough power for you, you may need to start looking at a desktop system with a Quadro FX 4500 (such as the Mac Pro).

thanks for your response Paul. I guess the m90 it is...

but one more thing, does anyone know how long has this card (FX3500, or FX2500) been out? Is it a too old model?

The 2500M has been out since about the same time as the 1500M; the 3500M has been out since the Go 7950GTX came out. And yes, they are both older, DX9, 7-series cards. The FX 1600M is an 8-series nVidia card.

The keyboard on the HP is full-size. It looks small in pictures because it spans the entire width of the notebook. You really need to see one in person and use one to really understand what it's like.

The dell is pricer in Europe than the HP.
So here, the HP is the big winner.

    BTW the FX1600 is a 8700M GT.

Sorry to bring up this old thread, but for instance the GC124EA (which is what 6edo listed, but with Vista Business) is 2000 - 2100 Euro here. I wouldn't be able to find a similarly priced M6300 here. I find HP to be cheaper compared to Dell, at least in Europe.

I found a Dell M6300 with the same specifications, except the T7700 (it has a T7500) for 1800 Euro.
By the way, when will we see a Dell M6300 review? :D

Don't talk about Europe as a country, as companies tend to act quite diferently from country to country

Here in Portugal, I was able to order my M6300 in a Smart Value promotion, with T7500/2Gb/160Gb7K2/WUXGA for less than 1600€, including 21% VAT and delivery - the equivalent HP 8710w would almost reach 3.000€

miguelbarroso actually that HP it's around 1750E here (GC125EA/GC124EA). I highly doubt that 3000E price tag.
