The Inspiron 700m is designed as a mobile solution for students and business professionals that desire the latest mobile technology in a thin, lightweight design. The sleek new form includes a 12.1-inch wide-screen LCD and Intel® Pentium® M processor options for system functionality. A variety of Internet connection options provide the freedom to connect from virtually anywhere. There's an integrated modem for dial-up access, integrated Ethernet for network access and WiFi® wireless support using built-in antennas. A built-in mini PCI card supports Centrino Mobile Technology for 802.11 b/g wireless connectivity.

The 700m seems to be a blend between the Inspiron 300m, that is no longer selling through Dell.com Home store, and the current Inspiron 600m offering. The Inspiron 600m is a slightly larger size since it has a 14.1" screen and the Inspiron 700m has a 12.1" screen. The 700m indeed seems a lot like the new Sony VAIO S Series notebook released just last month from Sony. The Inspiron 700m size and weight offers a very mobile style of laptop but not so small that the keyboard is hard to use or that you have to use an ultra-low voltage processor that runs at a slower 1.1GHz.
