NTI Backup Now 5 Advanced Editionis NewTech Infosystem's latest system backup utility. It provides users with the ability to backup and restore files, partitions, or entire hard disks. NTI Backup Now 5 also comes with a few extra features like emergency boot disk creation, backup compression, and backup encryption. Does NTI Backup Now 5 play well with the big boys, or does it fall flat on its face? We make the call in this review.

Does that mean NTI backup 5 is ****?
The 1st thing I always do after a re-installation of OS(OEM), I would 1stly uninstall NTI Backup 5 because I don't use it and it wasted my HDD and it have a start-up which is annoying too.
Now, you said it is a bit ****, so, I think my decision on uninstalling it on the 1st place is correct.

After these reviews and my own experience with Norton and Acronis I wonder if there is ANY good backup software...

EDIT: I guess, Acronis is not that bad, but I had a problem with their Bootdisk once (they have fixed problem since).

I hope Casper is on the list for review. However, it is aimed at cloning an entire HDD. It has worked for me when Acronis failed.

I love O&O Diskimage. It mounts any saved disk images as a hard drive under windows, Is relatively speedy, and compression actually does work.

We're wrapping up the backup and recovery software articles right now, and believe me I was quite surprised at the variance in quality between applications. I'll be making the final call in the buyer's guide (to be written this week but published a bit later), and I think we have two or three winners here.

I finished up with Casper not all that long ago, it has few drawbacks and it works well. It might not fit everyone's needs though.
