When I bought my last multi function printer, a Canon MP210, I was cautious to check what the life cycle cost of the printer would be. By this I mean the cost of the actual printer plus the cost of ink.
I generally found for example that HP multi functions that suited my needs were cheaper, but the 'official' ink was more expensive. However, three years since then the price of HP ink relative to its competitors appears to have dropped a little.
I am aware this may not fit with the target topic of this article, but expensive ink or cartridges that don't last as long as they should can be a real problem. -
