    Very interesting, nice find. :)

I'm looking into upgrading my hard drive very soon. Since it is my primary computer, I'd like it to be a little faster with loading times, etc. The 5400RPM drive I have right now is 'average'. Certainly better than a 4200RPM drive, but not as fast as I'd like. Opening multiple programs at once is slow.

I had been eyeing both the 120GB 5400RPM Seagate and the 7200RPM 100GB - I've made my decision now. Hopefully I'll be picking up the 100GB soon.

I did find it very interesting in that test how the Hitachi's fell behind in a lot of tests. The 5400 100G was especially disappointing.

i will still be going with the 7K100 i think, it does look like the seagate was a little bit better overall but the Hitachi looks like it would fit some of my needs better, and it is cheaper.

No, I don't think they do.

Remember that a SATA drive will not work in a laptop that takes Ultra ATA/100 drives.
