The Mac Mini isn't a notebook by any means. It's questionable as to whether you'd call it a desktop computer either. I was going to buy a laptop, but since the Mac Mini is a computer you can easily carry around (like a notebook) if you so wish, I decided to choose it instead.

Although I quite enjoyed reading this review, isn't this notebookreview.com? Shouldn't the reviews and discussions be for notebook computers?

I'd have to agree with that observation.

More info is a good thing. A Mac Mini is a laptop without the screen. It uses laptop hard drive and optical drive.

I was robbed by a sweet little old lady on a motorized cart and I didn't even see it coming.

We debated this and decided to post it because the Mini really is a portable PC. It's smaller than some DTR's, LOL. Don't worry, you won't see much of this kind of review and it's only the first time we've tried something like this.

It's a laptop without monitor, without mouse and without keyboard.

Anyway, do you travel with the Mac Mini?

Sorry but I can't believe that you carry all that stuff, it just makes no sense.

Eitherway, does it have a battery?

I guess the Mac mini falls into the SFF(small form factor) category, these are generally placed in the same category as notebooks. They have some parts in common with laptops,so I guess it can be included.

Nice review BTW. although I dont fancy myself having one!

    I love mine.

There is a battery mod, but it is a little half baked.

It would not be hard to mount a small TFT onto one of these. In fact maybe the company the does the PS2 LCD could coem out with one (battery/TFT combo).

A unix workstation that is the size of a lunchpail...

Maybe the TFT could be a Wacom touch sensitive model and use Apple hand writing recognition software...
