MSI Wind with 9-cell gets 25 Hours of Life
    [IMG]

Johannes from Eee-PC.de conducted a battery life test with an MSI Wind U115 netbook with a 9-cell battery and was able to get an astonishing 25 hours, 4 minutes of battery life from the unit. It was not being used while the test was conducted, but nonetheless even with light work the combo should provide more than enough life for a full day of work.

now, i love a notebook(or netbook) with awesome battery life, but thats a bit...overkill. its cool, but still.

makes me wonder what the samsung series netbooks would run with a 9 cell.

I think the display backlight must be off to achieve that run time.

    6 cell test
From HERE. It was the previous test with the 6-cell battery. Why would the 9 cell test be any different?

Sick. Now we need this battery run time (even just half of this) in notebooks.

my HP 8710w needs 20 cell of batter (8 cell + 12 cell) just to barely make it 10 hours. This battery life would be more than enough for a lot of people.

probably means no applications were being used. I don't think anyone can do a battery test for 25 hours straight lol

The reason why the U115 gets amazing battery life is because it swicthes off the hard drive. it has hybrid hard disk/SSD setup.

For a full explanation: http://www.notebookjournal.de/tests/review-msi-wind-u115-hybrid-luxury-875/2 (german, use google to translate)

The Wind U123 already has a 9 cell battery. You won't get 25 hours though.

    Ebay.
