MSI GT727 gaming notebook features ATI HD 4850
    [IMG]
MSI has introduced a notebook using AMD's newly-announced HD 4000 graphics cards, specifically the Mobility Radeon HD 4850. The GT727 features a 17-inch display with a proper 1920x1200 resolution, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, DDR3 RAM, and HDMI. The GT725 will also be available, with the only difference being it uses DDR2 memory (and therefore slightly less money). The Mobility Radeon HD 4850 graphics card features 512MB of DDR3 memory. The GT727 also boasts a high-end sound system, with "Theater Class4 Speakers Recognized and Approved by the Higheststandards of Dolby."

The top-end model will retail for around $1,700; it should hit the market in a few months.

Not sure that this is a large enough upgrade to replace my computer since I spend 90% on the internet or playing WOW but for $1700 the specs look good. DDR3 ram, 4850, 1920x1200 display, good speakers for around $1500 (lesser HD and proccessor this price should be feasible) would be great and cheaper than any 9800gt laptop that I'm aware of with speculated comparable if not better performance.

i find $1700 an interesting number because the only ones i really found were around $1500 i guess that must be for a slightly lower model.

Some people on the MSI forum are claiming that this 4850 is on par with the 9800 gtx mobile we'll have to see how that plays out.

I placed the HD 4850 ahead of the 9800M-GTX in the GPU Guide, I also believe it will be faster. The 9800M-GTX is only about as fast as a desktop 9600GSO/9600GT; the Mobility HD 4850 has the same specs as the desktop HD 4850, so it should be almost as fast.

You might be seeing the prices for the GT725, which has DDR2 memory vs. DDR3 on the GT727; it is slightly cheaper.

Yes, this is accurate as a 4670 ATI is as fast as a 9500GSO this is why i am VERY confident that a 9700m GT and a 4670 will be on par.

but yes the 4850 should be faster lets see how it plays out.
